Stories nourish our souls

Political rhetoric used to make a point is not storytelling.

An ad designed to make you do something is not storytelling.

A bunch of facts and feelings thrown together is not storytelling.

Stories nourish humans.
Whether they make them laugh,
inspire them,
incite them to action,
or call them together.

Unfortunately, most of what is termed storytelling nowadays
is a rushed, diluted version of authentic storytelling.

It feeds upon the soul instead of nourishing it.
